Wiring lights on a 96 TXT...
It is a 48 volt cart now, with 6, 8volt batteries. Can I wire in the new lights without a voltage reducer, directly to the batteries? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. |

Good Gawd no! Well you can wire your lights off of a pair of batteries. I don't think 16+ volts is any worse than 14 volts but you might pop your bulbs in a lightening flash. Or the lights might be super bright? It would be best to get a reducer or a separate battery for the lights.
Chances are you will pop your bulbs and be without lights, but you can make that call. |

You could wire two 24 volt bulbs in series, but then you'd lose both every time one burned out.

Thanks for the help. I think I'll install a voltage reducer!

You could wire your 12 volt lights in series and pick up 3 of the batteries.
