Does the solenoid click when pedal is pushed?

Re: ezgo electric golf cart
The solenoid has to close (click) for the cart to move, so we need to troubleshoot it first.
Here's a schematic of a resistor cart with the solenoid activation circuit traced. |

Re: ezgo electric golf cart
JohnnieB, this diagram doesn't look like my Golf cart, the battery's are not in like that, does that matter? And what need to trace for or check first?

The batteries are for illustrative purposes to demonstrate the neg to pos. Trace the red line to make sure the voltage is getting to the solenoid. Make sure there are no problems in the way.
This test will use a digital voltmeter. One from an auto place in shrink wrap will do "johnnieb" |

Re: ezgo electric golf cart
It's just easier to see laid out that way. Electrically, your cart is the same or close to it.
Here are a couple of wiring diagrams, one of them should match the physical battery layout in your cart. Like Taykol said, trace out the highlight lines. There is a bad switch, connector or wire in there someplace. |

Glad you got it going. BTW - I ground a few gears in a conventional cab Pete back in the late 60's. (Hauling oilfield stuff on OK and TX) Thanks for the feed back about what the problem was. |
