I would look around this forum and decide what I wanted to do if I were you.

But from your description of requirements if it were me I would go 48v PDS with an aftermarket motor and controller.
Also another option. Heck I don't know anything other than what I'm familiar with.

Ya Airone. Keep searching these forums. The Electric DC! forum has a lot of info but also use the "search" function on the lower linkbar. There are 2 abilities for searching. Try the first one to just use the search ability of the forum and also try the google search function in the site too. you will get different results.

My project has sent me to 4 or 5 different different large forums looking for answers. I can can honestly say, IMHO that this sites search function is the best I have experienced.

Also. If you find my words to ring true about this site and all it's info. I suggest anyone reading these words to do what I do every couple of months and donate $20. No one needs to know if you do or not. LOL, ok I just previewed the post and yes it's an advertisement.

Airone are you in any hurry? It's winter now so the prices of items should go down. This is the best time to buy. Folks might want stuff out of there garage. Just keep reading and ask before you decide to purchase.

Just wondering if I should buy a 36 volt D/C EZGO or the 48 volt A/C EZGO RXV. I plan on a 6" lift, 4 seater with 12" rims and 23" tires. I'll be using the cart in a campground with dirt roads, some small hills and a few light sandy trails, nothing crazy. I do expect to almost always have 4 people riding on the cart and I'd like to be able to get some speed out of the cart also ( 20 mph ). I've got about $4300 to spend. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time!

I just bought my first cart too. I studied as you are doing now. I decided on a 36v TXT because I'm just a part time golfer and I wanted to minimize long term cost. Batteries are expensive and 6v batteries are cheaper than 8v or 12v batteries. 6 - 6v batteries are less expensive than the other options. I for one, have no plans to lift it or enhance it's speed. If I were planning on that, I'd have probably purchased a gas one.

After describing what I wanted to use the cart for they both suggested the EZGO 48 volt RXV. I'm not so sure about the 48 volt A/C. It doesn't seem like too many people have them. I do realize the 48 volt A/C cart is fairly new and everybody seems to have 36 volts carts. But still looking for everybody's opinion, so throw it out there guys. I'd much rather learn from you guys then from someone trying to sell me something. In my first post I talked about what I wanted to use the cart for. If any of you guys are familiar with Ginnie Springs Campground in Florida that's about the roughest terrain I'd be using the cart on. Thanks again for your time and thanks for not slamming me on my lack of knowledge. You guys are awesome, Air One
The one gripe I have heard about the RXV is that it has tons of torque once moving but from a stop it is not so good. In other words if you were sitting still on an incline and tried to go it has a hard time. The parts on the RXV are sky high as well and I have heard they may stop making it.

I have no real experience with them though so maybe someone who does will chime in.

I know next to nothings about RXVs, but what you are describing sounds like the throttle response curve needs some tweaking.

Could be.....I know next to nothing either just hearsay. But I thought it was worth mentioning to the OP so he could research it before buying.

Most of my experience I have is with my 91 series cart. I also have some experience with my sister's 2006 PDS. Both platforms have their positives and negatives but overall both are very solid and parts are easy to come by.
