Re: "Extra" lift question
Great idea Monkey, and good additional info Pachanga. Thanks.
I took your advice and mounted the 2x2 tubing between the rear of the spring and frame. It looks like it will have a good increase in height and a good stance. My next hurdle to get past is the throttle linkage bottoms on the back of the leaf spring mount now. I'll have to recreate that linkage with an extra bend or two to get around it. Anyone have to deal with that? Thoughts? |

Re: "Extra" lift question
Oh...and one more thing pachanga...
I've never dealt with a spring shop so I have no idea what ballpark I would be looking at to have some longer springs made up. What would be a safe avg cost to expect if I dropped off my springs and asked for a set just like them, only 1-2 inches longer? |

Re: "Extra" lift question
Another option would be to see if longer springs could be purchased already made. When I upgraded to HD springs, I found a wide variety of lengths available, though I didn't check to see if any of them would work, as I was just looking for springs the same lengths as my old ones.

Re: "Extra" lift question
Thatguyjake and I got the cart buttoned up this weekend. We used 2"x2" square tubing spacers between the front leaf spring and body/frame. I've ordered a set of 3.5" shock extensions for the front shocks. Should have them tomorrow. Then we put 1"x2" tubing between the front leaf spring and the drop axle. Both spacers were 3" long with a 7/16" hole drilled 5/8" from the back edge and centered from side to side. This yielded 3 1/4" of additional lift so that nets 9.25" in front and 8" in the back.
I didn't want to leave this thread without a happy ending so here are a few pics of my new "extra lift" or lift extension. I'll put more detail in my build thread over in "lifted carts". Thanks for all of your input guys. Here is the Link to the build thread! http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/lifte...d-txt-25s.html |

Re: "Extra" lift question
We have to order-in the steel for the springs, our stock is out right now(we usually make our own blanks in-house,but ran out of material.I can order blanks in if you want them done. The springs would be about $45 per-side plus shipping(the last time we shipped some to Washington it was about $15 or so).
