Default Club Car Battery Floor

Since I am changing out my batteries this week, is there any advantage to doing anything for the battery well floor? Is it plastic or metal , and does it need some sort of preventative maintenance?

It is indeed plastic and other than making sure to be generally clear of debris or leaked acid etc there is nothing by way of maintenance that needs to be done while the batteries are out...
