Default 1999 Club Car DS quit

Cart quit on me yesterday. Pushed it to the shed and let it charge overnight. Still nothing. No light on controller at all. No click sound from solenoid. Solenoid has continuity across small AND large posts. Does that mean its the solenoid? I just got the solenoid earlier this year. So I wanted to make sure before I bought another one. Or do Scotty's solenoids have a warranty. thanks.

1999 Club Car DS 48v. Plum quick purple motor. 4 gauge wires. 500 amp alltrax. Heavy duty Scotty b solenoid. Heavy duty FNR lever under seat.

yes .... bad solenoid
continuity across large posts is a welded solenoid

Does the controller automatically shutdown when that happens? Just curious.

I have a 500 amp controller. Is there a 500 amp solenoid? The one I have is a 400 amp from Carts unlimited.

I was wondering why the light on the alltrax controller does not come on? Is that a concern, or does it have a safety shutdown?

OK so scottyb talked to me and apparently I was testing the solenoid wrong. I was testing it while it was connected. So I disconnected all the wires, resistor, and diode, and tested it again. Now I don't have continuity across the large posts. So I found this message thread for testing the solenoid HERE
So I ran 2 jumper wires from the main positive and main negative posts of the pack to the small posts on the solenoid and I don't get any click.
So bad solenoid eh?

Ok thanks crash test. I am still worried about the controller. I haven't seen that green led on the Alltrax light up since this happened. Will a bad solenoid not let the controller work?

yes if it is not powered up no lights will show
The LED Blink Codes occur at power up, the number of green blinks indicates
the throttle configuration:
1 Green LED flash = 0-5 kohm resistive
2 Green LED flashes = 5K-0 ohm resisitive
3 Green LED flashes = 0-5 Volt
4 Green LED flashes = EZ-GO inductive (ITS)
5 Green LED flashes = Yamaha 0-1K ohm resistive
6 Green LED flashes = Taylor-Dunn 6-10.5 Volt
7 Green LED flashes = ClubCar 5k-0 ohms, 3-wire throttle

Normal display status:
Solid Green: Controller ready to run
Solid Red: Controller in programming mode (using Controller Pro)
Solid Yellow: Controller throttle is wide open, controller is supplying max output, and is not in current limit.
