Florida ASPT (ex-golf cart) Insurance???

The most recent thread was over a year old and it provided no leads. No one in Florida wants to write an insurance policy for a 2016 ASPT LSV. I've tried Progressive, Travelers, and my local insurance agent has tried about 9 others to no avail! She eventually found a company out in Utah that writes policies but I'm paying $961 per year for the minimum bare bones coverage required to be legal in Florida. Does anyone have RECENT first hand experience obtaining insurance for their golf cart turned street legal?? If not I'll just stick with what I have but it seems high. I can't use USAA because I have no connection.

Go online and Google Stratum Insurance Agency LLC. They write policies through Safeco Ins Co. My cost is $135 /yr. Your premium my vary.

So, State Farm does it. I called a State Farm agent in Jupiter and she said they do not do it. The lesson here is to call a State Farm agent until you get one who is willing to do just a little more work than normal to get it done because they will insure it. So it comes out to be $48/mo.

My State Farm agent just added it to my existing account, no problem.

One thing to remember. Once you convert it to a LSV never call it a golf cart again. It's to confusing for most insurance agents.

Jjance- yes, that is very important...never mention those words, "golf cart" or the agent will forever call it that because they don't understand "ASPT"

I am very disenchanted with Progressive for happily taking my 2 cars and then immediately dropping the ASPT coverage when it was supposed to be a package deal. Oh well, they'll have me for 30 days and then I'm switching all vehicles to State Farm.
