Do you know what type of State Farm policy you have? They just quoted me 350.00 for a six month policy….. I told them that was crazy. Searching for insurance now so I can get my tag.

When you all speak with the insurance companies, do you say you have a example 2008 EZGO type cart 48v or do you say you have a 2014 register ASP (assembled from parts) LSV? One company said I have a 2014 LSV that is why it is so expensive plus like others said I have to carry the same as I carry on my vehicles which is 100/300. I am trying to figure out how to ask for what I need but not more than I need.

I stopped persueing this option. The bottom line was that I would have to carry the state minumum if I'm going to drive on the road. 10K PD and PIP. For the cost, compared to being able to drive up to my local Dairy Queen, it was not worth it. The bright side for me is, I live in a golf course community and I can still get to the local Wing House by riding the sidewalk......
Best wishes to everybody though.

With Safeco I pay 120.00 per year. That is for full coverage including comprehensive. I was never able to find a live agent. I searched on line and found Stratum Insurance Agency based in California . They are the agent for Safeco. For those of you who pay $60.00 per year make sure you get a financial responsibility/proof of insurance card just like you have with your car. And like one person said in some states they cover it under their motorcycle policy. And last but not least never refer to your LSV/NEV/EV as a golf cart again.

I was told by Geico that they do not cover street legal carts, I said it was really a LSV. I think I am making them more confused, what do I call this cart now that it has a vin number so they will insure it? State Farm wants 300.00 for six months. I don’t want to call Progressive or Safeco until I know what I am asking for so I don’t make a mess of this.

I am in SC and had to insure a cart to use on the street. Our laws. The cost was less than $50 a year. Sorry that I do not recall the coverage amounts but it met our laws.

Insurance agent here. Im an Independent Insurance Agent. Depending on what kind of coverage you need (campground coverage or highway use) depends on how I insure my clients. The best package Im selling this year is Foremost Insurance its a national company specializing in toys. I did one today full coverage $90 (comp, coll, liability) annual policy. Of course its state by state.
