Sonny, try this, remove the blue (or black) wire(s) from the - negative side of solenoid (the small posts) and bring 36v - from the battery pack to the - side of the activation circuit (small posts). the cart may run like this? If it does run normally you can leave it on and run it.

Scotty
I tried the neg. wire trick and the cart works fine. Only thing is the solenoid stays made all the time. Is this normal?

With it working like this, Is it tell me bad controller? I would think so.

Scotty must be getting his beauty rest (he sure does need it ), but with a stock DCS drive system, when you connect the black wire to the negative post on the battery pack, the solenoid will stay energized as long a the Run/Tow switch is in Run and a direction is selected with the F/R switch and the keyswitch is on. Turn the key off or shift the F/R to neutral and the solenoid should drop out.

Yes, it is telling you the controller is bad, or at least the part that controllers the solenoid is kaput. The part that runs the motor is okay for the moment, but when one part fails, the other parts probably aren't too far behind.

The stock DCS controller (Curtis 1206SX) has some reliability issues, so replace it with an aftermarket controller, such as an Alltrax DCX400 (or higher). That will give you more speed and torque as well a reliability.

Thanks JohnnieB

I will change the controller at some point in time. As I stated earlier, I have a few alltrax controllers that came off fairplay carts. I'm now trying to program them for ez go's .Hope I can do it.

Thanks all for the help. We can call this thread closed.

LOL, this is kind of OT but whenever I see the title to this post "low voltage" I think about that AC/DC song where he sings "High Voltage!!!"........
