Default Lead Post or Stainless Terminal for High Current Cables

Which connection is best/preferred for the battery cables? The lead posts seem like they would provide the most surface area for current flow but would the stainless terminals provide better protection against corrosion? Also what is the best terminal construction material I.e. brass, copper, tinned copper, lead...?
Thanks

Silver.

Attached table is the relative conductivity of various materials, using copper as the base (100%) of comparison.

If you cannot afford Silver, Copper is the best choice.

Just about everything corrodes in the acid laden air in the battery compartment so the exposed surfaces have to be coated with a protectorate and cleaned often.

Silver oxide conducts quite well, and is why it's often used in big industrial bus bars, often in non-climate controlled hostile environments. Most other metals don't conduct as well when oxidized.
