The fuse only on the charge circuit, or the fuse on the main cable you add when a alltrax controller is installed. Either way, the controller will blow before the fuse. The fuses primary function is to prevent a fire, not save a controller that is hooked up backward (which it will not protect).

So it sounds like I will need a controller. Which and from where.
How do I replace?

Starting point would be to chack for B+ (Battery Pack voltage) on J1 Pins 4 & 5. Pin-5 is hot all the time and Pin-4 is hot whenever charger is not plugged into cart. If both are present, it is a good time to consider upgrading to an Alltrax DCX400 or larger controller.

At 36V, your cart with do about 24 MPH on stock height tires.
Which plug is J1 ?

J1 is the 10 pin plug. It's location is show on the drawing of a PDS controller at the top of this schematic.

Note that Pins 1 thru 5 are on the bottom row, right to left.

So Pin-5 would be the bottom left and Pin-4 the next one in.

You can download the Service manual, the Parts manual and the Owner manual from the stickies at the top of this forum.
Specifically, they are the three PDF files near the top of this post: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...g-manuals.html

Like I mentioned earlier, an Alltrax DCX400 (or larger) does wonders for a PDS cart.

Mine went from 19MPH to 24MPH at 36V with stock PDS motor and 18.3" tires and a DCX400.
Then it went to 28MPH when I installed a 42V battery pack.

Later I went to a larger motor and controller.

This is where I get my stuff: http://www.cartsunlimited.net/Custom_Options.html

Ouch, it is not sounding good for the controller.

To get the solenoid to activate, you have to have B+ (battery pack voltage) on every pin highlighted in red on the schematic I posted.

Keyswitch = ON
Run/Tow = Run
F/R = F
Pedal = Pushed

Should put B+ on all the Red highlighted wire. If any don't have B+, the switch connected to that wire is bad. If they all do have B+, the controller is bad.
