EZ-GO 2003 TXT in and out of limp mode
I have just purchased a 2003 EZ-Go TXT 36 volt mechanically stock golf cart. It was sitting for a year or so. I cleaned it up, lift kit installed, replaced the batteries, cleaned connections, checked wiring. On my first test run it ran in limp mode. I went in reverse for about 50 yards, went back into forward and it was running normally,, YES. Stopped the cart back into limp mode. Re-checked battery charge (full) and connections. Got my multimeter out read a bunch of stuff on these forums and now I am confused more. Seems like I have the proper voltage across my battery packs and coil ( not completely sure of my testing here I tried to follow the troubleshooting guide). Please point me in the right direction! Cool forum. Sry I am a newbie.

Re: EZ-GO 2003 TXT in and out of limp mode
You have a 2003 TXT PDS that is lifted, has over-sized tires and a rear seat, so it is not stock. Attachment-1 is what stock looks like.
Put controller in diagnostic mode and it may tell you why it is going into limp mode. (There are several reasons why they do) The text at the bottom of attached controller cover label tells you how to get into diagnostic mode and various beep codes are listed. Be sure to put Run/Tow switch into Tow before connecting/disconnection any wires anywhere on cart. Otherwise, you could turn the controller into a boat anchor, if it already isn't one, or at least on its way. Toss an Alltrax DCX400 or larger controller in your cart and it'll do about 24 MPH on stock height (18") tires. |

not getting any beeps. Can I assume that the cart does not beep in reverse that I will not get any beeps in diag mode?

The beeper is attached to the passenger side glove compartment. To reattach the wires, you have to remove the panel with the Key and F/R switches in it. -------- What size are the tires? 18X8.50-8 is stock. |

Re: EZ-GO 2003 TXT in and out of limp mode
OK - I will have to look into re-attaching the BEEPING Beep.
Cables- Makes sense. I have the new cables. Going to install today. No Limp mode in three days. Thanks again for the help! |
