EZGO RXV...Speed upgrade question.
Ive got a 2011 EZGO RXV with upgraded gears and upgraded software. Currently running 38mph top speed. I have a little competition going with a buddy. Hes got an older club car and im not really sure what all he has done to it but hes spent a lot and its running 43mph. Anybody have any ideas on how i can get some more speed out of mine? Guy at the golf cart place that did the upgrades on mine said he has to do some research because he isnt sure at this point. He mentioned possible getting the software from a different model cart that comes from the factory at 25mph instead of 19 like mine.
I know this is vague...i dont know a ton about carts, so if you need more specific info from me just ask and ill figure it out. |

Re: EZGO RXV...Speed upgrade question.
Since you have a Danaher controller, You would have to get a Danaher "2five" controller. The 2five software cannot be cloned onto your controller as far as i know. It might , with your HS gears, get you over 40mph, but would create a new problem. The RXV controller does all the braking duties, as there are no conventional brakes, the 2five controller is calibrated for its 4 wheel hydraulic brakes to do some of the work, and has A LOT less regen braking. I think you are pretty much maxed out without going to an even higher gear ratio, which is a bad idea in my opinion, as it puts too much braking loads on the controller, and negatively affects acceleration and hill climbing power.

Re: EZGO RXV...Speed upgrade question.
Thx for the responses so far guys.
I run taller tires on my cart than factory. I can check to see what size they are when I get home from work today. |
