Question no reverse

First timer. I have 98 ez go elec. wont backup have tested every thing I can think of.ms ck good controller ck good wiring I know how to ck is good.not getting voltage to + side of small solenoid when in reverse. orange wire is good.Motor is good.I have moved blue wire from ms to where org. wire was on ms the motor will back up took controller off and installed on different cart works fine.installed jumper wire from org wire at ms to solenoid clicks and press pedal motor reverses PS. it is a 36 volt seares

Sounds like the cam in the F/R switch is not being rotated far enough when shifting into reverse, to let the roller arm on MS-2 drop into the proper indentation on the edge of the cam.

thank you I found a bent arm on ms that would not drop in slot when in reverse I wish I could have talked to you two days ago. would have saved me a lot of hair pulling cursing and depression. Hope some day I will be able to help you thanks again

Glad to hear you found it and fixed it.

Sounds like you've got a pretty good handle on the electrical stuff. Just remember the cart was designed by mechanical engineers using '50s (or earlier) technology, except for the innards of the controller.

Another thing to remember is the batteries are a different breed of cat than what we are used to. Charge the after each use.
