96 Series Limo solenoid clicks, won't Go!
I just purchased a 96 36 volt limo cart that I can't get going yet and I could use some help. Here is where I'm at:
I installed a new solenoid and a throttle pedal micro switch and the cart now clicks when you depress the pedal in forward, reverse or neutral. Here's what I know I did wrong and I need to figure out what I may have damaged. I jumped the two SMALL terminals on the solenoid -I now know that was a Bad Idea. But I don't know what I may have damaged. When I turn the key on, I have full power on battery side of large solenoid and zero on the other, zero on both small terminals. Solenoid makes no voltage change when I put cart in F/R or N. When I press the pedal, I have full voltage on both large solenoid posts and full voltage on one small terminal, zero on the other. I switched the orange and black wires on the small solenoid terminals and the full voltage seems to follow the orange wire regardless of solenoid terminal position. Seems as though I also have full voltage to all four terminals on motor when pedal is depressed as well. I did a continuity test on the f/r micros and I seem to have continuity on the one all the time no matter what position the selector is in (don't know if it is forward or reverse, it is the one on the right when looking from under the cart at the back of the switch). I don't know if this micro is part of my issue or not. That's all the info I can think of for now, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The controller is a 400 amp Curtis controller and I assume it is original. Thanks again for your time! |

That is exactly what I have! 1996 Pcx-956 with Curtis 400 amp controller.
Any advice on where to look for my problems? Thanks again! |

I have a 2001 version of this cart.
It is pretty basic. Here is the troubleshooting tree for cart wont run from the manual Johnnie posted. Print it out and go to the cart |
