Leaf spring shackles
Anyone ever had the stock leaf spring shackles that come with the heavy duty rear springs bend or break. The ones that came with the springs I bought a number of years ago are made of aluminum. Recently while loaded with another adult and kids, we were in some really rough terrain and both rear shackle sets bent sideways. If there are heavier duty ones out there I would prefer to buy a set but am thinking of making some out of steel.

Re: Leaf spring shackles
So I went out to the shop and took two pieces of angle iron and began fabricating new shackles. Approximately 4" long. Tigged them into a c channel. Promptly ran out of tig wire. Then broke three drill bits....... Decided there was a case of cold beer waiting and we'll regroup this weekend. Should work nicely when I'm done though.
