Default Gas Yamaha Between axle and belt

Long time reader on this site. Just bought a 2011 Yamaha and figured I needed to join as I am a DIYer. Is this purple wire suppose to be here? It is real stiff and seems to be cutting into my seal or bearing on the differential where the shaft is. Any help is appreciated.

yes it should be there sorta of
but it looks broken
and should NOT rub on the seal
it should sit in the metal cup before the seal [the rusty color bit]

it is the spring that controls the clutch
buy a new spring

Or you can just put a new spring in it, very easy

I took the clutch off and wedged the spring back in the correct position. Does not seem to fit exactly how it should but it works and is not rubbing on the differential housing. I will order a new spring today. Thanks for the help.

Would this seal that the spring was rubbing against be the rear axle seal or rear axle bearing? Part number if anyone has it. Thanks
