Unhappy Electric EZ-GO DCS Power Failure

Hello Everyone,

I have a 97 Electric EZGO Electric DCS

Hope I can help with the information I can provide so far. I could also use some expertise. Hope we can work well together.

Thanks Gamble

Angry Re: Electric EZ-GO DCS Power Failure

Hello Everyone,
I may have done this wrong, but here goes.

I've be working on an upgrade to my stock 97 EZGO ever since I had a little trouble a few many weeks back. I was driving and then pulling up to stop. Just before stopping I accelerated only to hear a sputter a few popping sounds and the voltage dropped all the way down with no more moving power. If I let my foot up the voltage on the meter would go back up. Now all I get is a humming sound and no power and the voltage meter drops to below empty. So, this started my rebuild. I installed a new Admiral high speed motor, new 4 gauge cables all the way around, a new Alltrax 400 amp controller, and a new 200amp silver contact solenoid. I also added a 5" lift, shocks, rims, and tires. Now I push the accelerator pedal down and the same results as before. I notice on jack stands the throttle works and the tires go real fast. It's just with a load that it fails to move more than a few inches if at all and the voltage drops and the controller light goes red after a few seconds. I have the PDF wiring diagram as well as some written instructions on all of the test procedures. All tests up to test 5 have passed and test 6 was showing no voltage on the black wire at the ten pin controller. So I just replaced the ITS and the same problem still occurs. Any ideas?

Thanks Gamble

How old are these Trojans? Voltages appear a bit weak.

that 5.9 is most likely the culprit 6.2 is getting low do you have a load tester you can check them all with

I just tested step six and seven again.

I get no voltage on the black wire at the ten pin
I get 10.4 volts on the white wire

This is the first test I performed since I replace the ITS

Thanks again

Look for the date code stamped on the terminal. e.g. F4 = June 2004
