Default Charging Voltage

I'm reading 65 volts from the battery pack when charging. Is that voltage correct?

Being a Newbie myself I also have this same question for my 48v cart.

My cart was in maintenance mode with my Delta Quiq Charger when I disconnected it for 30 minutes. I didn’t drive it or even put in the key.

When I hooked up the charger I was reading 61.2 volts initially. This value eventually decreased to.59.9 volts but rose again to 64.0 volts during the finishing phase of the charge. Once the charger indicated full charge the voltage slowly dropped to the usual charged resting state of 51.2 volts.

Is a measurement of 64/65 volts normal during charging?

The simple answer to your questions is yes, the voltage readings both of you are seeing is normal.

The ERIC (Delta-Q IC650) is a on HF charger and will put out as high as 72v on the finishing charge. On the '13, it could be a Powerdrive (OBC) charger, which will put out as high as 65-67 volts on the finishing charge.

The main thing on either system is that is on the topping-off/finishing charge and that is always at the highest voltage AND lowest amperage...

Thanks guys for the replies. I had a feeling those voltages were OK, but thanks for explaining why.

Here are the charging voltage requirements for Trojan batteries for you to compare to.

Other battery makes may have different specs but are likely close to these voltages.

I monitor charging voltages on my Precedent 2016 and my voltages mirror yours, all sounds good to me
