SUCCESS
First I want to thank all that helped.

I had to make new gaskets but it is running.

The more I think about it it may have been the gas originally.

I got gas for the car and a couple gallons for the cart. I put in some sta bil and put the can in the cart. The gas in the cart was a couple months old. when I drained the tank it was full of this brown stuff that i could not really see bu looking in the tank. could the combo of the old gas and the new with the stabilizer cause this? The gas in the tank did not smell very gassy if you know what I mean.

I also do not think the gasket between the head and spacer was sealing any more once I took it off. It was rock hard.

Well i least I did a fuel maintenance on the cart.

Good to hear! Glad you came back on and let us all know what fixed it. Always good to do it yourself and like you said Carb and fuel pump both are a lot cleaner! Not to mention now you know for sure how a good fuel pump acts. Congrats on the fix.

GREAT NEWS!!! It had ta be something simple. Well you got clean carb now.
Never used stablizer, if gas is bad, or going to be bad, nothing is going to stop it. I always just drain it out then run the carb dry.
