Default Gas / Spark probs? on Club Car DS

Wow, this site is an eye opener. I really enjoy reading and LEARNING!
I have 2 CC - DS models 2006. Compression is 125 in each, batteries good and charging systems work. They have Kawasaki engines. They are strictly used on golf course, so a lot of starting and stopping, off time, etc.
Seems they become VERY hard, if not impossible to start. They get gas and have spark.
I read yesterday about the ignitor. Do you think this (ignitor) could be my problem as well?
Oh, and if they sit for a day, they'll start right up, but I hate to send them out only to be towed back.
Yes, this is my 1st post to ask a question, but I am learning much from all who reply.....Thanks!
Oh, btw, where is this ignitor located???

Welcome Putter, Right off the bat I would lean more toward a fuel related issue.
2006 is really new to consider ignitor proplems.
I would focus on a more common element that would affect both carts, Bad Fuel or dirt in gas can from one can could contaminate both carts?

More common with CC hard starting is the filter assy, air tube or choke is leaking air somewhere.
If those areas are sealed then I would suggest pulling and cleaning the carb.
Maybe after sitting for a day the debris settles and will restart.

First thing to do is If they are hard to start I would pull the plug wire off before you try to start it and verify you have spark.

Keep us posted.

Thanks Crash,
but I've cleaned the bowl and checked the needle and seat, which works fine.
ie, pull fuel hose and blow to verify it opens and closes fuel.
Do these engines have points? or magnitos? I know these could cause hard starting.?
Where are they located ?
Thanks for your help!!!!

No points/condenser, the ignitor fires the coil.
Not sure on a 06 but the ignitor is usually mounted behind the rev limiter.
They are both on the front of the engine down low just above the engine mounting bolts.
Maybe swap one out from a known good running cart before you buy.

Thanks,
As far as swapping out, I've been doing that already.
That's how I found my bad Voltage Reg.
Thanks for the location, I'll go have a look see.

I believe that on 97 and up DS carts the coil and ignitor are combined in one part. Prior to that the coil and ignitor were separate parts. Check one of the sponsor web sites showing ignition parts.

Oops, that's right. One piece under the flywheel shroud.
(still thinking it's something else.......)

Yes guys, I followed the spark plug cable going into the shroud area. Looks like a lawn mower (flywheel and magnito - to spark plug wire).
Very nasty place and harder to remove. With the engine in the cart, it's near impossible to get at. I just had another cart go bad.
Seems like the gas is NOT the problem. It's NO SPARK!
So next I'll check this rev limiter or thingy just above the oil drain plug and look for a wire......
I am hoping it turns out to be an easy fix, cause it's now happened to 2 carts.

OK here's what I've found....Oh, BTW - Thanks for your input 810....and to HCH and crash.
I found the ( RPM limit switch?? ) above the oil drain and under carb. Nice and tightly mounted. Anyway, I pulled it off and disconnected the 2 wires. 2 are plugs and one gets the ground mount. The cart started right up. I plugged it back and grounded the loose wire and it would'nt start. BUT THEN, it would start. For how long it would run ??? I don't know. Then I looked up the part, and the best price was like $185. Looks like I'll need at least 2 of these. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!!! Price is a bit salty....
