Default pulser ohms

well i am confused. have a 89 3pg that has no fire. it used to till a rebuild. same pulser coil, etc. but in testing we found two pulsers with 155-156 ohms. looking at jons advice in the tech section it should be 75. but does not say for which engine. after going thru two pages of search, i see where there a lot of 155 range pulser out there. one guy said his manual says 155 (1986) i can't find a pre 89 manual to confirm this, so does anyone either have one or an opinion? ? jim

This is opinion and I can't confirm this. If the 86 model had a 155 ohm, then chances are very good yours does too. You should be able to check some sellers sites and see if the part numbers for those years pulsers are the same. I would bet they are, that would confirm the 155 ohms.....

figured out the prob. it now runs great with 156 ohms at the pulsar.

don't know, it just seems as long as you have a pulse, the ohms don't count for much. just a cheap opinion. (you get what you pay for.) jim

The pulser generates a/c voltage. I never use a ohm meter just hook up a volt meter set to a/c and you should have 1/2 volt a/c while spinning over the engine...
