Default 1990 marathon rear differential parts

I am looking for the large gear located in the rear axle. The gear appears to be the main gear that drives both the left and right rear axle. The left side axle goes directly through the middle of this gear. I was able to remove both axles and 2 retaining clamps and the whole differential slid out.

The gear teeth appear to bolt onto a base that the axle slides into. I hope i can just replace the teeth.

The retaining bolt had become lose in one of the clamps and allowed the gear to grind off teeth. I cannot find the part anywhere

That part is called the ring gear and they should be replaced as a set ie. RING & PINION

that is the ring gear, but there is no pinion in these rear ends. i think just a gear replacement will work. the 91 to 97 had one bearing size and the 98 to 2007 had a different one.

Macdoc- You mentioned 91-97 as the same gear size. What about a 1990? is it interchangeable with other years? I keep running accross part number 5888 as the gear replacement. But, this is not a part from ez-go. Any thoughts on using part 5888?

double checked. 88-97 2 cycles are the same and 91-97 4 cycles are the same. check out east coast custom carts in the sponsor list. the pic is of a 4 cycle.

If there is a gear there is a pinion unless it is 1:1. They should be replaced in pairs.

cincinnati_kid- You bring up a point that is 100% valid

Please provide your thoughts: The driven clutch connects to the input shaft on the rear end (held into housing by by ring clips). The input shaft engages a shaft that downsizes the gear ratio (this is pressed into the housing). The ring gear is the final drive and is held in by axles and saddle clamps. Replacing all gears results in 100% accuracy. But, a ton of extra work. Any thoughts on just replacing the final gear if all other gears are in good shape?
