Default Shorter belt for my 4 cycle on my Marathon

I have heard some guys say that you can get a more smoother take off, and a little more torque by installing a shorter drive belt, is this true, and if so how much shorter do I need to go.

It worked great on my TXT. I used the 1 in shorter belt. Check out the thread shorter belt and 28 degree driven clutch.
