93, S/G fail due to bypassed micro switch
Previous owner had bent the micro switch roller lever to keep switch made. Being new to the golf cart world I am surmising this switch is to prevent rapid forward reverse action and wiring damage. I started the cart in forward direction and swicthed to reverse and nailed throttle while still moving forward trying to avoid hitting the wall in my garage. Cart died and would not start. Left sit till next day. Cart started ran around yard a couple times, parked and has not started since. Solenoid will click once and then cart seems dead. If I unhook solenoid coil wire and S/G feed wire and jump direct from batt. to coil wire the solenoid will engage. If I jump 12 volts from batt right to S/G it will turn over. Hook it all back up and nothing. Is my S/G toast?
