I need more torque!
Hey guys, my marathon runs great, and does good off road, but I've been doing a little more "hardcore" playing lately, and when I'm on a decent incline, the cart just has no go!! What are some good ways to get more torque, or just more rev? I'll be going up a hill, and it will just bog down and stop. I would say I might need a new belt, but it's line the engine is not even revving. Any ideas? Thanks a lot, Jp

Re: I need more torque!
Had the same thing on my 91 marathon and found my throttle linkage was not opening carb all the way. Actually was only half. I also found I had a dirty driven clutch with warn buttons and weak spring. I installed new buttons along with a new high torque spring. I also tightened up the governor to allow for more top end. I have a cart now that will not stop at a hill and takes off nice. Heavy spring keeps the high gear ratio for the belt to top and allows engine to gain rpm a bit before the clutch will drop the belt for speed.
