2pg cylinder clerance
I'm rebuilding my 84 ezgo. Is .003 the correct cylinder clearance? To me it seems kinda tight for an air cooled motor.

Re: 2pg cylinder clerance
I'm not sure what you mean by cylinder clearance.
The manual says piston ring end gap is .008-.016. Engine specs start at section H of the manual. |

Piston to cylinder running clearance. The manual states .0075 is max .003 - .004 is optimum, to me being air cooled I would think with running temps and expansion you run the risk of lockup. Just my opinion but I'll run with the specs given.

Re: 2pg cylinder clerance
Welcome to BGW .003-.004 is correct clearance. After the rebuild mix the first tank at 40:1 which will make it seem sluggish for the first tank then will wake up after refilling at 128:1 there after. Have a spare plug laying around for the future.

Thanks for the info I rebuilt the motor with the clearances and is running great after a couple of quick adjustments ( had throttle cable a little too loose and was backfiring from time to time) thanks for the help
