When we first started racing Karts in 82',Synthetics were the new thing, and the guy who did our first motors said it had to be used to run the RPM we ran(6200-6800 with stock internals). My Dad said BS (It was also almost $6/qt!)and ran regular oil,Locked it up in a few laps.Switched over and never looked back.Motors would last the entire season, and we got 8000rpm out of one before it made noise after a whole season!Best stuff to use in my opinion!

Things have changed alot since that time.; We turn FH's 72-7500 all day long , of course we now use billet rods. I never run an engine more than 10 weeks on rebuilds, and use to only run the fh 4-5 weeks. Don't race karts anymore after 11yrs with my son . Carts are almost cheaper.

Is Klotz readily available at retail stores, auto parts stores? I remember the smell of Klotz oil in snowmobiles back in the 60s and 70s when I was a young pup. It did smell good, I will look for some to try in my 1988 Marathon. az
