Are PDS and DCS motors interchangeable?

I am having problems with my PDS motor and I know someone that has a DCS motor, are PDS and DCS motors interchangeable?

Yes but in the other direction. You can use a PDS motor in a DCS cart with out the speed senor. A DCS motor can't be used in a PDS because it needs the senor to run.

I have a alltrax 400 amp controller installed and I do not believe it uses the speed sensor. So will the motor swap work?

I have been told that you can use a DCS motor in a PDS cart with the aftermarket controller.

Will a 97 DCS motor fit on a 2002 PDS cart? (splines and bolt pattern) Do you know off hand what the difference is internally between a DCS and a PDS motor? I just don't want to take a chance damaging my controller. I also sent you a PM to explain why I am considering this.

I am told that there is no difference in the motors.

I was going by a stock setup. I wasn't aware of the controller upgrade. The motor should work fine in either cart.
