![]() I picked up a golf cart for 60 bucks the other day, it has all the wheels/rims, body is all steel and in decent shape, needs some tlc for sure. My problem with it is, is that there is no serial numbers on it and the only badging that is on it says "GO-FORE" which i believe to be the make being that when i open the back panel to fill up the gas tank there is a sticker that says use only 2 stroke go-fore oil. Ive searched and searched looking for leads on this thing but cannot find any. The starter on the engine is bad so i don't know if it runs or not, seems to have good compression. i did find out some information about the engine though. it has a Cuyuna 2 stroke engine in it. Cuyuna is apparently made by a company called "2si" Ive never heard of them. I just would like to know if anyone could help with some information on this cart.

![]() Cuyuna engines were used in a lot of snowmobiles in the 60-70s, you may find some help on snowmobile forums.
To help scorpian sleds had cuyunas in them prior to cat buying them out. Last edited by DOOmsman; 09-09-2009 at 05:25 PM.. Reason: cat |

![]() HI,
I HAVE A GO-FORE GOLF CART AND I HAVE DONE REPAIRS ON IT. MANY PARTS ARE ACTUALLY THE SAME AS THOSE USED ON OTHER AVAILABLE CARTS. MY E-MAIL IS YCI2@SBCGLOBAL.NET. |

![]() Yes, a Go- Fore is a Melex. If you drill out the rivets on the Go Fore name plate on the floor mat and remove it, it says Melex underneath. At least mine did. You can see my pics posted under golf cart pics (I think ). I've got mine stripped down to the frame but the progress is veeeery slow. Take care, Monkeywrench 2542

![]() Go-Fore was the gas version of EZ-GO carts, I used to repair these for a course I worked at when I was younger. The carts were very durable and fast. The only issue they have is they have 2 sets of points behind the pulley under the seat
that required a custom tool to hold it while loosening the bolt. Setting the gap also proved hard due to it's location, but when running they are worth the effort. The engine is an adapted snowmobile engine and has plenty of power when properly tuned. I have wanted one for years. Good Luck |
