I also am new to these carts,although my G1 has lots of torque and faster than anything in the campground,I find it too noisy.I was also thinking of maybe putting in a larger 4 stroke.I just assumed you could swap out the diff with a newer model with reverse. It's probably easier to modify a newer cart with the proper diff but where's the fun in that

I am building my g1 useing a 200cc honda 4 wheeler motor with reverse only thing is i have to machine a adapter for the rear axle to mount the rear sprocket since it has to be chain drive will send pics when i get further along

I thought about using a quad motor and transmission. My neighbor saw one up at silver lake that had a manual trans quad motor. He said it would do wheelies and had a lever poking up through the floor to shift with. Let us know how the quad motor works out.
