G14 Help needed. Throttle sensor, possibly controller

Hey guys I'm working on a 95 electric G14. It was jumpy when you first hit the accel. like it was full throttle. Drove to back yard, and when I went to move again it jumped, then died. My question is do you think the throttle sensor could have given up and thats what caused it to die? Or did the controller die from the "jerkyness"? tested the motor and its good. Also does anyone know what values the throttle sensor is supposed to ohm out at?

Boy, does this sound familiar. In my case, it was the throttle sensor. I didn't have much luck testing the sensor for ohms resistance which should be 0-1000k. I have an Alltrax controller and it was giving the correct 5 green led flashes, but then a series of slow red blinks which meant "open circuit or bad throttle sensor". If you have the stock Yamaha controller or something else, can't help you with that.

Well, it's a toss up. The throttle sensor is around $100, and may not fix it. I actually tend to lean towards the controller for this one.

hey guys thanks for the replies. I sent the controller in for a check and it had a bad armature. I reinstalled and still get same issue so the throttle sensor is on order haha. Ill let ya know what happens from here. Thanks again!

So guys i swapped out the throttle sensor and still have the same jumping issue. I'm not sure where to go now haha. Could a motor issue cause this? As soon as the solenoid clicks it runs full throttle. I can hold pedal in same position and it will accelerate.

Unplug the throttle sensor, and try again. If it still goes full throttle with sensor disconnected, you know for sure it isn't the sensor. BTW, the armature is the spinning part of the motor, not a controller part.
