Carb Backfire
I recently rebuilt my G9. It was bired 50 over, new pistons rings and gaskets. It will run on full choke but won't with the choke off it will backfire out the carb. I am 99% sure i have the timing right, is there anything else i am forgetting?

Re: Carb Backfire
my first thought would be is the fuel pump pushing fuel and if so then there maybe crap in the carb, i would the carb a good cleaning and blow it out with compressed air.

Re: Carb Backfire
The fuel pump is pumping fuel and the needle valve does shut the fuel off when you push up on the float. The carb is clean as well! I just cant figure it out!

Re: Carb Backfire
Cam timing? Valve lash? It should be lean, valve is opening, or timing way off. Maybe intake leak too, but sounds like more. If it has some power running then maybe cam timing ok...check compression if you can't find anything else, comp would be low.
