Default 12 volt key switch source?

Hay guys, I'm needing to find a power source after the key switch, to wire up a break light switch. I have it connected to the hot side of the kill switch at the accelerator pedal right now. thanks Mike.

One of the wires from the key switch is hot all the time and the other is switched. I took a automotive 30A relay and tied the contacts to the battery and the coil of the relay to the non power side of the key switch. This way I have a switched power source for lights horn etc.

A relay is highly recommended off the key switch. Otherwise you will draw to much power from that source instead of the battery directly.

Just pull your key switch out an test it to find out which side is hot and which side is switched. Then hook up your relay and you should be good to go.

Make sure you tie the ground to the battery not the frame.
