I'm glad you got it fixed but quite how disconnecting the rev limiter caused the ignitor to go out is a bloody stretch of the imagination. Perchance, were these techs smoking strange smelling cigarettes ?

never heard of disconnecting the rev limitor make the ignitor go bad..........might just be their way of justifing putting all those parts on.............................

My first post here, longtime lurker.
I recently had the same problem, and this forum helped me greatly as it turned out to be the grounding strap between the engine and the frame not making a good, consistant connection. Although the bolts were tight apparently there was enough corrosion behind the bolt on the frame side to prevent good connection sometimes. Replacing the bolt and strap solved the problem, much obliged. |
