I just wanted to follow up on this! I was out of town for a few weeks. When I got back I had a call waiting from a coworker who was scrapping some old lawn tractors! Long story short, I now have an 18hp briggs twin sitting here. I'm ordering a 6" lift for the cart to make room for the engine! I'll keep you posted!

Make sure the vtwin engine is horizontal shaft and not vertical. Most lawn tractor engines have vertical engines.

yes it is a side shaft engine! It also has an electric clutch on the other end of the crank so I'm considering some accessories for it.....small hyd pump or air comp or 110 generator. Lots of possibilities I think the air comp is the most logical......We'll see..... I'll change my mind a 100 times before I'm done!
