Only runs with micros up?
I have a 1990 gasser that I have been trying to get fixed up. I just replaced the key switch, it did not have one at all, and it will only run with the microswitched pulled up on the f/r switch. I wired the switch exactly like it said on a thread i found. I am tickled to hear it run, but wonder why it only runs the way it does. whether you are in f,n, or reverse, they have to be pulled up.

try pulling out the yellow knob and turning it 180 degrees when you put knob back in and try and start it.......................................

Re: Only runs with micros up?
I pulled it out, rotated, pushed in, and it is the same as before. What does that do anyway. I had no idea it did that.

Re: Only runs with micros up?
thats maintence mode kinda like nueltral.......the yellow knob has 3 cams on it ( high spots ) and when the knob is in the right position when you put shifter in F or R if you look you,ll see it raises the lever on microswitch so cart will start in either F or R and you can put the knob so it will only start in nueltral ................i suggest you play with that knob ( not your knob )...............lolol.................and work shifter and watch till its in a position where it raises the micro switch arm...............that has to be where problem is..............................
