Default Club Car 2005 Gas

I have checked everything and even have a new battery -- but it will not recharge the battery -- runs well when charged and then it dies so it does not recharge -- tried everything. Have any suggestions on what to check??

the battery is not charging -- no current going back to the battery -- it puts up 11 to 12 volts when it is running and then it does not re-charge -- it is a brand new battery

do a search on here. there is a test to check out the generator. i beleive you pull the yellow wire and ground it. that full fields the gennerator and puts about 15 volts to the battery. if that happens you have a bad voltage regulator, or bad wiring going from the generator to the voltage regulator to the battery. or somewhere in between.

hope that helps,
Aaron

follow Aarons advice....if you have a digital voltage meter put the probes on proper battery terminals and start and rev cart up if voltage dosn,t rise to 13.9 to 15.7 or inbetween the V.R. more than likely is bad..................

It should be under the dashboard area to the right of the steering column.

yes lower dash about center, if its only putting out 12 volts when running theres a real good chance the voltage regulater went bad..........the starter/generator while they do go bad its very rare, i,m not sure what all or how you tested anything but if it were me i,d start with the VR.............................
