Default new valve guides bore .oo6 too small

I am trying to rebuild the head on my 94 DS FE290, I recieved all new parts including the valve guides; as the old valves were in very bad shape. The new valve guides are measuring .267, but the valves are .273. I am being told that it is up to me to rebore them with a J .277 drill bit myself. Is this true??

I'm not familiar with replacing the valve guides, I've never had to do it myself but it does seem odd that the guides aren't pre machined. Those things are hardened and running any kind of bit down there accurately is not going to be easy unless you have access to a lathe. A drill bit ? I don't think so. They will need to be reamed. Reaming bits don't come cheap and I'm not sure if .277 is even available over the counter. It might require a special grind.
Sorry I can't help any further.
