Default 2001 CC Gas mod questions

I have a 2001 cc gas with the 290 engine. I am wanting to install a brake light kit on the cart, do you have to purchase a specific type of lights?

Also i have a new carb on and i'm wanting to go 0-5 mph. currently when i barely hit the gas it jumps to about 10 or so mph. I thought my gov bracket was bent in some so i pulled it out and it still hops to about 10 right off the bat. DO i need to adjust the pedal linkage rod? If so how? any help and photos would help me greatly, i want to pull my 8 month old son in his wagon around the yard with the golf cart but i cant like this.

Take off the black box cover. Inside are two micro switches operated by a cam which in turn is actuated by a cable connection. If the switches actuate when the pedal is depressed to far you will have just your symptoms.
Adjust the rod where it enters the box until you have approx 1" of pedal travel (measured at the top of the pedal) when the cam trips the switches.
Brake lights. You can purchase a kit but they are pricey. Virtually any type of lamps will do the job, trailer lights etc but you will need to trigger them via a pedal switch.

* preferably TWO pedal switches: one to close the circuit as you brake, and another to open the circuit when the parking brake is engaged.

(unless you wire the lights to the ignition switch, but it makes more sense to have a parking brake cut-off.)

ONE switch, it activates when you hit the brake pedal. How hard is that to understand ? Am I missing something here ?

Club Car's OEM set up for a DS requires two switches, 1 NC switch for the hill brake, and 1 NO switch for the brake pedal,
wired direct to the battery, pretty much so the lights don't constantly stay burning when the hill brake is set!

I have the 1 main pedal switch wired for a positive 12V to my key switch.
(the hill brake switch, and the wire zip tied to the pedal shaft though the floor, I thought was just plain ugly!)

I had a "senior" moment there Don, apologies. Of course the lights will remain lit unless physically turned off when the parking brake is set. Now where are my "Depends" ?

i currently have a head lights and tail lights set on the cart. I also hooked up the brake light kit with the dual switches and when i hit the brakes the tail lights go out. I assume i need a different buld in the tail lights?

Also when i put the lights back to normal without the brake light switches wired in, they are very dim then melt the fuse....i assume i have a short somewhere?
