G1 Cheap, Should I buy it?
I have an opportunity to pick up a Yamaha electric cart for a couple of hundred bucks for a project. I want a cart to run around the neighborhood in and don't mind a project including electrical, paint upholstery etc.
I think it may be a G1 based on the picture. Are parts (motor, controller, steering, brakes etc.) still available for a model that old? What kind of problems do these experience? Is it too old to breathe new life into? Here's the cart: http://sacramento.craigslist.org/mcy/1091928965.html |

Re: G1 Cheap, Should I buy it?
Thanks Matt, I will be looking at it this afternoon.
Anything I should look for? I'm guessing this is a 36v resistor cart, any idea how fast these will go? Are they a good candidate to upgrade to 42v/48v? |

A big block I am not really that familiar with the G1... I just think the more toys the better, and if it is dirt cheap... should be a fun project. Although if it does need new batteries I hear that can get pretty pricey.

six 8volts cost me $720, plus another $245 for a 48volt charger.
