1999 Club Car DS - Villager 4 - Cannot Find Tow Switch
I've ordered a 3 inch spindle kit and tires and following the lift instructions its stating that turning off the tow switch is necessary to prevent motor or controller damage. I'm having a hard time finding the tow switch and was wondering was a model that didn't include one? If so, are their any other steps that I should take to ensure that no damage occurs during the installation.

Welcome to the forum!
You probably have a Series cart or an early Regen system, neither of which has a tow/run switch. It’s unlikely you’d damage anything but if you want to be extra safe disconnect the main battery negative and positive cables. |

Thank Luke! I went with your suggestions and disconnected the batteries. I was able to get the lift installed but man it was tough. I don't think it's been touched in 20 years so there were several seized bolts and the dirt/grime was thick. Overall it's looking pretty good from where I started.

Looking good. You could probably fit bigger tires than that. What size are those?

The rear leaf springs love getting the bolts seized into the bushings. Great fun for the uninitiated.

They're 18" total with 12 " rims. To be honest I wish I would have went with larger tires or bumped up to the 14" rims with low pro tires. I can live with them being a bit small for the time being and move up to a larger tire next year. Right now my next move is to send my motor over to plum quick and have them put the bandit upgrade on it. Hoping that will give me a some more torque uphill.

Nice looking cart. Is your cart a solid state or resistor set up? You should see a difference over stock. Not sure how smooth that wheel and tire combo will be with the lift kit.
