Default Battery leaking greenish/brown stuff

One of my electric Club Car batteries is leaking a greenish-brown stuff from the terminal heads. I'm pretty sure that I haven't overfilled the battery with distilled water (ever). I'm assuming that I'll have to replace it. I think it's 5 years old (or so) but I can't see any date indicator. The voltage (without any load) seemed okay but the leak can't be good.

I would replace them all. Unless you know the date of them is current. I have heard good comments about Trojan

Disconnect it from the battery. Get a wire brush and clean it off. After you get it back together you can buy battery terminal protector at any auto store and spray it on.

Lead Sulfate is light brown? Copper sulfate is blue...am i Correct? I guess the 2 together could make green.
My Paw would use axle grease to protect his batteries, my how times have changed.
I advise friends, family to check their terminals every few weeks for corrosion growth. this will melt off a post or corrode off a cable end if left unchecked.

Even better, make a solution of baking soda and water and squirt it all over while you wire brush. Rinse with just water when done.

Note, don't do any of the above on concrete or anywhere else that you don't want to get stained.

I cleaned it once and it returned pretty quickly. Lead sulfate? All of the other batteries are fine. I’ve seen and cleaned blue before but not a greenish-brown. Plus, it appears to be coming from the terminal heads, like it’s seeping out.

In that case you will have to replace that battery cable. Or if it is long enough reterminate it.
