Default 2011 RXV speed sensor

I have a 2011 EZGO RXV. According to the manuals it should have a bearing encoder, but instead, it has the speed sensor on top of the motor.

It had a Danaher controller that I upgraded to a Navitas controller.

Is this normal or has the motor been replaced at some time?

I was set to replace the bearing encoder, but realized it doesn’t have one.

Sounds like motor has been replaced.

Also, been many (6 or 7) years, but once a guy helping me got things mixed up and put a Navitas Controller made to replace a Danaher in a curtis cart and the curtis in the Dannaher cart. One or both did run properly. I don't recall what the issue was, but we switched and both were fine.

The new Navitas controllers may not be cart specific, I don't know about that. If this is an issue and some other member can't clear or clarify this, I have a couple of very good contacts at Navitas with whom I can check.

Newer RXV motor has the sensor on top, 1 bolt holding it in. Post a picture or part numbers, maybe it's been replaced.

That's normal I had a 2011 RXV Freedom with a Danaher controller and it had a speed sensor straight from the factory.
