Default Yamaha g16 brakes

I am wondering why there is not videos and/or that much info on G14-22
brake pad replacement (a lot for G29/drive)

My issue is I have replaced my brake pads and now the drum will not fit back
over them, they are in place secure and I have read even someone in here
had the issue and the solution was grinding them down or sanding them off
but is that really the fix ??????

Any information on how to correct this or good photo(s) is greatly appreciated
also what is correct way to adjust right now the screw is seated all the way in

Have you turned the adjuster all the way in to compensate for the new thicker shoes?

That should allow the drum to be installed.

Are you sure that all the tension is out of the brake cables ? Just a little bit is too much. Also are the levers that attach to the cables sliding all the way back ? I had trouble on my G 14 and found due to corrosion one lever was not able to full retract as it were.

What would be the best way to ensure that, undo the bolt at the pedal ?

Back off the tensioner under the front floor board for one. But as I mentioned there was enough corrosion at the diff side of the brake plate on mine I had to remove the brake cable itself.
