1986 Club Car DS rear axle oil seal
I need some help please! Pulled both axles to replace leaking oil seals and as I popped the oil seal out on the passenger side (longer axle side) a very thin slinky spring popped out too! Anybody else have this happen and what is it? Thanks Bud

Re: 1986 Club Car DS rear axle oil seal
It is likely a garter spring. They are commonly used on the back side of the seal to give the rubber a little tension to seal to the shaft (axle) it's used on. Look on the back side of your new seal and it will probably have one. Without a picture, that's my guess.

I forgot to mention that axle bearings and collars look great and no drag or loose rough movement at all! Would you leave well enough alone and forget replacing them? Thanks Bud
