Default FE?

Trying to order an ignition coil for a 96 cc and they ask if its an FE. How do i find out if it is or not? Can you tell from the serial number if so how? Thanks.

It will be marked on the fan shroud with a sticker. Your CC should be an FE290 if a DS.

Will it say fe290 on the shroud? If ds means gas then yes it is. Thank for the info

No DS is the body style. There should be a sticker on the shroud that gives all the info about the motor. It will be on the drivers side. I'll see if I can find a pic to help.

FE290 = 9.5 hp
FE350 = 11.5 hp
FE400 = 13.5 hp

fe is the overhead engine. or the spark plug is at an angle on top. the old flat head desighn with the sprk plug on top is the kd version(non fe version)
