Gas pedal travel
I have a new to me G16 that i bought a couple weeks ago, and have a question. In regards to the travel of the gas pedal until the cart should start moving, right now it will start running as I press the pedal, but wont start moving until about 1/2 throttle. Is this normal? Previous owner said he put a new throttle cable on, could it be an adjustment thing? Thanks in advance.

Re: Gas pedal travel
Could be, or, could be clutch or worn belt. The best thing for you is to read this site for a while and learn about what maint should be done and what to look for. It will help you out in the long run!!

Re: Gas pedal travel
Yes, you can adjust the accelerator cable down at the pedal. Just make shure you leave some slack or the lead end can be sheared off. Also, you want the adjustment to alow the engine to turn over before the throttle shaft starts to open or you'll get backfireing.

Re: Gas pedal travel
so heres what i have found, whether or not its my problem or not.....the engine rpm doesnt start going up until about 3/4 throttle, and then the clutches start to move. also seems i always have to choke it to get it to run, no matter how long i have driven it prior.

Re: Gas pedal travel
I believe the pedal being slightly depressed allows for the Starter/Generator to operate and from what you explained it is working properly, but your issue is how far you have to press the gas pedal and you mentioned how the cable was replaced. So i would move forward on a cable adjustment that works the fuel.
