Re: 13hp Club Car Swap
That's where I'm looking now.
I think this will work: http://cgi.ebay.com/21hp-Kawasaki-En...QQcmdZViewItem It's still cheaper than the 16hp. EDIT I just went and did some measuring, and it WILL fit, but I will definitely have to rework some things. I might have to drop my engine cradle down a bit to make sure it goes. Width is going to be tight too, but it will go. Depth is going to be VERY tight. I think I can make it work. I'm more interested in the 19hp though, so it won't be like a shoehorn to get the thing in there. Last edited by NO NO NO E-Z-GO!; 06-20-2007 at 07:42 PM.. |

Re: 13hp Club Car Swap
I know the feeling.
I would like to get on one of each big block cart one time. I have a weak spot for Kawasaki engines, so I try to stick with them if at all possible. The Vangaurds are Mitsubishi engines anyway, so they're techincally not a B&S. |

Re: 13hp Club Car Swap
Well, I decided to tear into the FE290 today.
I was surprised at how little wear this engine had. There was essentially NO ring groove in the cylinder walls. The head and piston were pretty dirty with buildups, though. I am going to split the block soon and have it bored, and mill the head. What is an ideal number to mill the head? This is what else is in my shop right now. Maybe I should dump this into the cart. It's a Nissan 1.6L DOHC 16V I4 engine...but you all could probably gather that from the pictures. DOHC BABY!!! |

Re: 13hp Club Car Swap
Yes. Good old Nissan likes for you to pretty much rebuild the **** thing to put an upper and lower timing chain in it. You have to pull the head to get the top loose, and to do that you have to remove the exhaust. To get the bottom of the cover loose, you have to drop the oil pan. To do that, the transmission has to be taken loose from the engine.
Put down the bong, Matthew, just put it down. |
