Default Conversation 3pg to 4 stroke

Hello all,

Wanting to put a 22hp v twin predator engine into my 1991 Ezgo that currently has a 3pg. Question is what do I need to do for forward and reverse ? Put a different rear end in or some type of gear box to switch from forward to reverse ? Any and all suggestions to help.

Thank you
Bobby

Not a lot of hope for these types of swaps to expect reverse. Since the 3PG is a 2 stroke, the engine would run in reverse to go backwards. So the rear is like a car rear, it turns how you turn it. Other than that, you can manipulate the mount to set the engine how you wish and hook up a belt.

But yes, you would typically need to put a 4stroke rear (that can be pricey) to have the transaxle w/ reverse. Unless you are swapping for an ATV engine that brings reverse with it.

Good luck!

find a Marathon 4 stroker with a blown engine....the reversing rear axle may be a bolt in...I used one plus the engine cradle to put a Predator V-twin in an electric Taylor-Dunn cart....
